Carol Ortiz recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 points and a season-high 14 assists as the Manhattanville women's basketball team completed its non-conference schedule with a 67-49 win over Ramapo College of New Jersey on Monday night at the Bradley Center.
Jess Delagrange led the Valiants with 12 points, while Olivia Nastasi sunk eight of 10 free throws on her way to 10 points. Nina Johnson scored 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Ramapo (8-12, 3-6 NJAC) scored the first four points of the game to gain an early lead, but three free throws by Nastasi and a jumper by Johnson allowed the Valiants to take back the lead at 5-4.
While Ramapo would tie the game on three separate occasions in the first half, Manhattanville (11-9, 7-4 Freedom) didn't cede the lead for the remainder of the contest.
Johnson scored the Valiants' last eight points to secure the win.
