2 fans injured during tent collapse at motorcycle race in Indianapolis

Two fans at the Grand Prix motorcycle race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway have been injured when a tent collapsed on the infield.

They were taken to Methodist Hospital on Sunday, but the injuries are not life threatening.

Witnesses said some fans went inside the tent to get out of the storm that shortened the race to 20 laps. The race was stopped with eight laps to go.

A wind advisory had been issued shortly before the race Forecasters said gusts from the remnants of Hurricane Ike could reach 50 mph.
