A police standoff in Marion ended Thursday morning when the man inside a home reportedly killed himself.
According to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson, the incident is still under investigation and SLED has been called in to assist.
According to officials on the scene, after shooting tear gas into the house to get the man out, he died of a self-inflicted wound.
Earlier in the morning there was shooting in the house as two others in the house argued with the man, those around the scene say. Those two escaped out a window.
Reports from the scene say the man then barricaded himself inside the home off Jones Avenue, just off Main Street.
The Marion Star & Mullins Enterprise is reporting the man was out on bond for a previous crime.
